Dental Implant Videos
Our surgeons on the things patients actually ask about — which full-arch option fits which mouth, what the prices include, and what the process really involves. New videos appear here automatically as we publish them.
Everything we publish lives on our YouTube channel. If there is something you would like covered, tell us at your consultation — most of these started as a patient question.
The questions that come up in every consultation
Almost everyone who sits down with us arrives having read a great deal and trusting very little of it. Full-arch implant treatment is searched the way a car is searched — by price first — and the results are a wall of numbers with nothing attached to them. A video is the shortest honest route to the part that actually decides your case: what is in your jaw, and which option that leaves open.
So these are not advertisements. They are our surgeons answering the things people ask in the chair, in the same words they use in the chair.
What the videos cover
- Which option fits which mouth. A single implant, a snap-on denture, a fixed full arch and a Malo bridge are four different answers to four different situations, not four price points for the same thing.
- What a price includes. Ours are all-inclusive — the CBCT scan, the sedation, extractions on the day, routine grafting, the abutments and the final teeth. A lower headline number elsewhere often excludes the grafting, and grafting is what gets discovered after the scan. The full cost breakdown has every figure in writing.
- Bone, and what to do when there is not enough. Being told you are not a candidate is usually a statement about one approach, not about you. Zygomatic implants anchor in the cheekbone and can avoid a graft and the four to six months of healing it needs.
- Upgrading work done elsewhere. A worn acrylic hybrid or a cracked zirconia arch can often be converted onto the implants you already have, usually without new surgery.
Who you are listening to
Ozayr Mahomed, DMD, is the practice's dental director and places implants daily; Andrew Kelsey, DDS, was born and raised in Plano; Panos Afouxenides, DDS, is a periodontist, Pikos Institute–affiliated, whose work covers bone grafting, sinus augmentation and the treatment of peri-implantitis. The team page sets out their credentials in full.
One caveat worth stating plainly: nothing in a video is a diagnosis. We do not know your bone volume, your bite, your medical history or what you want out of this, and anyone online who tells you your case is straightforward has not looked at a scan. That is what the consultation is for, and it is free.
What a video can and cannot settle
It is worth being honest about the limits of the format. A video is very good at explaining how a treatment works, why one design behaves differently from another, and what a price actually buys. It is useless at telling you which one you need.
That judgement rests on things only imaging shows: how much usable bone sits in each part of the jaw, where the sinus floor and the nerve run, whether a posterior implant can be tilted to avoid grafting a sinus, how your bite loads, and whether an arch is stable enough on the day to carry teeth immediately. Two people with the same number of missing teeth routinely need different treatment, and the difference is not visible from the outside.
The practical use of these videos, then, is to arrive at a consultation already knowing the vocabulary — so the hour is spent on your scan rather than on definitions. Patients who have watched a couple of these ask sharper questions, and the conversation is better for it.
If you prefer to read
Everything in the videos exists in writing too, usually in more detail. Implant options compares all four treatments side by side. Implants versus dentures covers the decision most people are actually weighing. Malo bridge versus monolithic zirconia is the technical comparison, with the published survival figures and their citations. Warranty terms sets out what is covered, for how long, and what voids it — including the annual maintenance that keeps a lifetime term alive.
For the logistics rather than the clinical side, the patient journey runs through what happens on each visit, sedation and anesthesia explains what you will and will not be awake for, and out-of-town patients covers planning the trip if you are driving in.
New videos are published to the channel as we record them and appear on this page automatically — there is nothing to subscribe to here, though subscribing on YouTube is the way to hear about them first.
Questions a video cannot answer
Which option suits you depends on your bone, your bite and what you want out of it. A free consultation includes a 3D CBCT scan and a written all-inclusive price — a $400 value, no deposit, no obligation.
