At Innate Dental Solutions, every level of sedation is available — from light relaxation with nitrous oxide to full medical anesthesia administered by a board-certified MD anesthesiologist — so nothing stands between you and your new smile.
Four levels of sedation, matched to you
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to comfort. At your consultation we review your anxiety level, your health history, and the length of your procedure — then recommend the right level together.
Nitrous Oxide ("Laughing Gas")
A gentle, fast-acting gas breathed through a small nose mask. You stay fully awake and relaxed, and the effects wear off within minutes of removing the mask — most patients drive themselves home. Ideal for mild anxiety and shorter procedures.
Oral Sedation
A prescribed sedative taken by mouth before your appointment. You arrive already calm, remain conscious and responsive during treatment, and typically remember very little afterward. A companion drives you home. Ideal for moderate anxiety — no needles involved.
IV Moderate Sedation ("Twilight")
Sedative medication delivered through a small IV line, taking effect in seconds and adjusted in real time throughout your procedure. You remain conscious with your protective reflexes intact, but most patients drift through the visit and remember almost nothing. Your vital signs are monitored continuously from start to finish.
General Anesthesia — MD Anesthesiologist
Fully, completely asleep — the same medical anesthesia used in hospital operating rooms, administered in our office by a board-certified physician anesthesiologist. You feel nothing, hear nothing, and remember nothing. The option most practices simply cannot offer.
Hospital-grade anesthesia, with a physician anesthesiologist
For patients with severe dental anxiety, complex full-arch or zygomatic cases, strong gag reflexes, or medical conditions that call for a dedicated anesthesia provider, we bring in a board-certified MD anesthesiologist — a medical doctor whose entire job is your anesthesia and your safety.
While Dr. Oz and the surgical team focus completely on your teeth, the anesthesiologist focuses completely on you: administering medication, managing your airway, and continuously monitoring your heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen, and breathing with the same equipment used in hospital operating rooms. You fall asleep, and when you wake up, the work is done.
This is how entire full-mouth reconstructions can be completed in a single visit — comfortably, safely, and with no memory of the procedure at all.

Health history review
Before any sedation is scheduled, we review your complete medical history, current medications, and prior anesthesia experiences to confirm the level that's appropriate — and safe — for you.
Continuous monitoring
Your heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen levels are monitored throughout your entire visit. For deeper levels of sedation, a dedicated provider does nothing but watch over you.
The right provider for the depth
Lighter sedation is delivered by our trained clinical team. Deep sedation and general anesthesia are administered by a board-certified MD anesthesiologist — the highest standard of anesthesia care available in any setting.
