Full-arch surgery here is done under IV sedation administered and monitored by our anaesthesia team. You are not awake for it. Most patients describe the experience as going to sleep in the chair and waking up with the provisional teeth already in place, with no memory of the surgery itself. Vitals are monitored continuously throughout. You need someone to drive you home, and most people spend the rest of that day resting.
What IV sedation is not is general anaesthesia in a hospital. You are breathing on your own and responsive to voice, but comfortable and amnesic. For a single implant, most patients find local anaesthetic is enough — sedation is available if you want it, and nobody is going to talk you out of it.

Every figure is all-inclusive on the same basis: the surgery, the implants, the abutments, the provisional, the final prosthesis and the warranty. Zygomatic or pterygoid work on an upper arch adds $10,000.

Getting here from Richardson
We are at 4708 W Plano Pkwy, Suite 200. From Richardson it is a short run west on the Bush Turnpike or up through Plano — typically around 15 to 20 minutes. Parking is free and directly outside the suite, which matters on a sedation day when a family member is collecting you.
What a sedation day actually involves
Before. Nothing to eat or drink for a set window beforehand — we will give you the exact timing. You will go through your medical history and current medications with us in advance, because both change how sedation is planned. Someone has to drive you home; we will not proceed without that arranged. Wear something comfortable with sleeves that move.
During. A line goes in, and the next thing most people are aware of is being told it is finished. Vital signs — heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation — are monitored continuously by the anaesthesia team for the whole procedure. A single arch takes roughly two hours, both arches four to six. Fixed provisional teeth are placed before you leave or the following day.
After. You will be groggy for the rest of the day and you should not drive, work, or make decisions that matter until the next morning. Swelling peaks around day two or three. Most patients are back to desk work inside a week and on a soft diet for a few weeks while things settle.
The part worth knowing in advance: the provisional teeth are placeholders by design. The bite gets dialled in over several visits, speech takes a few weeks to normalise, and the gum contour changes as it heals. Judge the result at the finish line, not in week two.
Who sedation is not straightforward for
We would rather raise this now than at the chair. Sleep apnoea, significant cardiac or respiratory history, a high BMI, or certain medication combinations all change the sedation plan and occasionally mean a different setting is safer. Some patients need medical clearance from their physician first.
None of that rules you out. It means the planning is done properly rather than discovered on the day. Bring a current medication list to the consultation — all of it, including anything over the counter — and tell us about anything you have been diagnosed with, even if it seems unrelated to your mouth.
